Chapter Forty-Five - Footprints On The Snow

Zephyrus’ POV

I strode towards the main entrance to check the footprints Lena had just mentioned. With the heavy snowfall, it should have been covered up already. Just as I had expected, I opened the main door and found no footprints outside. Getting a shovel, I went out, yet there were no traces of footprints anywhere. The snow had covered them all.

I returned to the cabin with a frown, wondering if it was Romanov. No, it couldn’t be. He would have returned alone. I looked at Lena’s agitated face and smiled to relax her. I didn’t want her to worry unnecessarily. Whoever they were, I could easily fight them single-handedly.

“Did you see the footprints?” I shook my head, making her frown.

“No, the snow might have covered them up. So, what type of footprints were they? Human or animal?” Her frown deepened as she tried hard to recollect.

“I think similar to ours.”
