PRECIOUS

"Good morning, sweetheart," Duke greeted, turning back to smile at me. I smiled back and motioned for him to get back to work. "It does taste good but not as good as you, though," he winked at me.

I furrowed my brows, amused. "But you are not done cooking, so how are you this confident?"

Duke's smile increased. "We five are great cooks, so how can we not be able to prepare a simple dish like rice bowl with green pepper sauce?"

I smiled, nodding happily. I passed by him and went close to see what the others were doing. I couldn't wait to taste their meal, and if it indeed tasted as good as he sounded, then I would make them my personal chefs, all of them.

"I can't wait to have a taste if that's the case, Duke," I said cheerfully, watching Nate who had begun roasting the red pepper. He turned the pepper until it was a slight brown in color. "Isn't that okay already?" I asked Nate, my face crumpled as I tried to imagine having burnt pepper in my mouth. Yikes!
