Importance

"Thea, anak?"

Mabilis akong napalingon sa likod ng marinig ang boses ni mama. Her forehead furrowed as she examined me carefully.

"Can I talk to you for awhile." Nakangiting tanong niya.

Tipid akong ngumiti at tumango-tango. "Sige po."

I turned around and looked back at the sea. I am here on the balcony of our library. It's been more than 2 weeks since I set my foot here in Palawan. These are my routine everyday. After waking up in the morning, I'll eat, paint, sleep, read a book, then spend my time watching the sea. Hinayaan din naman ako ng Pamilya ko. They didn't talk to me or even ask me questions.
