Book 2 Chapter 52
Alayna followed after Christopher in silence contemplating what he could have possibly meant. 'The people who count? That's the nobles! Everything that happens in this city must go through rounds of approval or be backed by a high ranking family!' Alayna couldn't help but wonder if Christopher had finally snapped. His every action was the polar opposite of winning somebody over to their side. He could have over powered Tars and force him to submit, bring him in on his plan. Killing him only ensured half the vampire populist would never side with him.
So did Christopher get his meeting with his relatives? Did he get to defend his case? Nope. It played out just as Alayna had said, even when Christopher presented the ring showing he was technically royalty one of men rushed off speaking to a higher up and returned only to order Christopher be locked away in their dungeon.

A silhouette began taking shape as all of the magic particles began forming together. Overlooking The City Of Darkness was a rock jutting out over the ledge of a large drop. On top you had the beautiful Alesia sitting leaned back with one arm supporting herself and the other resting atop her knee with a smile.
