137: The plan

The furniture people pulled up and I had completely forgotten about them. I was no longer looking forward to the aesthetic now that the whole pack's mood had been ruined. I wished there was a way I could summon Ahya.

"You got furniture?" Ryan looked confused.

"Yeah, it was supposed to be some sort of cool surprise but it clearly can't be anymore, everyone is ruined from finding out about the end of our world."

He pulled his lips into a smirk, "it's all okay my love, everything will work out fine in the end for us all."

I followed after the men as they set things up as if we had not just heard the announcement.

"Hey," I called to Ryan an hour later when the men had gone, "who was Ahya to..." I trailed off, not wanting to make this awkward for either of us, "your dad?"

If my words triggered him, he was really good with hiding it, that was for sure.

"A very good friend," he said after some hesitation, "why would you ask?"
