43: Gender roles

We soon gathered the entire wolf population in the packhouse.

Alpha Ryan and his men walked out of the packhouse into the centre of the packhouse and were taken aback to see so many wolves. They were dressed in shields except for alpha Ryan. He seemed to be so confident in his skills. His eyes found mine amid the crowd and I didn't even need him to call me first before knowing I was supposed to head there.

"What is all this Nadeline? Why have you gathered everyone here?" He said, tugging at my wrist to pull me away from the scene and talk to me privately behind the fountain that never ran dry.

Letting go of my hand caused me to stumble backwards because of the force he had been pulling me with. He quickly grasped my wrist to stabilise my balance, "to make a plan." I answered his question, "Every time something wrong has gone with the pack members, it's because there was no plan put in place, this time, everyone has time to be prepared."

"Nadeline, keeping everyone dispersed gives them
