Chapter 48: The Return

Veronica paid the driver and we all got out of the car. Some of the older guards in the lobby seemed to recognize Veronica. With pity in their eyes, they simply stepped aside. Everyone there knew Marc. Veronica entered the building and everyone followed her. The lobby had a reception, seating, a grand piano and a small fountain. The familiarity of the place gave Marc a sinking feeling in his stomach area.

The receptionist looked at everyone and began frantically dialling numbers on her phone.

"You bitch. How dare you show your face here?" Erica came out of our private lift. "And you, my dear husband, are going to regret leaving." She shouted at Marc. Without thinking much, she lunged at Lisa with all her might, with murderous intent. She reached out to grab Lisa by the hair, but Lisa grabbed her wrist and yanked it off.

"How dare you? I thought we were friends, you sad piece of life. This is how you repay me, by running off with my husband?" Obviously Tobias had told Erica everything.
