"Did you just declare that you're going to divorce him?" My father stormed into my room, his expression etched with anger and disappointment. It was evident that he had overheard my conversation, though he likely didn't realize the full context of it.

"Yes, Dad," I affirmed, my voice steady despite the storm brewing within me.

"But why? I asked you to talk to him and clarify what's between you two, and you went ahead and declared that everything is over between you two? What is this, Fedora? You've disappointed me," he admonished, his words cutting through the air with a cold precision.
