CHAPTER 16

AMARA POV.

“Come on, Lena. Pick up the phone!” I spoke to myself, holding my phone to my ear as the ringing tone continued to her side. No answer. Again. This was strange. I thought she was going to be here for at least a few more days and help me to understand things in their werewolf world, but she left. I twirled the phone in my hands as my thoughts travelled from my friend, to breakfast earlier. Somehow with Alex being here, I felt so much better. It was so good to see him smiling and laughing again as we talked while we ate. Even after Ace joined us, it was a merry affair. I didn’t know if it was knowing what he was, or they were, or if it had something to do with my brother but I found myself utterly relaxed and there was a brief moment that Ace reached for my hand in my lap and brought it up to his lips to kiss it.
