Chapter 17

I carefully walked down the stairs with April and Zeus leading infront.

The red dress stops just below my knee and is so tight that i need to be careful when I'm walking in these red, devil might care, heels.

I ran my fingers through my hair and pushed it off my face. Zeus had released my hair from the bun and had spilt it in half. The long, black strands fall on either side of my face, down both my shoulders.

The three of us returned to the main sitting room. April took the seat next to Kaily and Zeus next to their parents. The only available seat was next to either Karl or next to June. With the glare June was sending my way, i chose to sit next to Karl.

I can see from the corner of my eyes that Karl was staring at me. Not with a glare or anything... Just staring at me.

I found my right hand fingers playing with my wedding band on my left ring finger.

"You look very beautiful, Lucy." Kaily complemented me and i found myself smiling at the youngest Thompson.
