"Look at this turtle!" I squeal, my fingers running gently over its shell as it swims past my legs."I heard they bite." Jackson warns me."Well, if I get bit then it's worth it. They're so cute! Do you think I'd be able to bring one home?" I ask with a grin, already plotting to smuggle it inside my suitcase."I'm not even going to entertain that idea." Jackson snorts.Sitting down in the water, I keep my phone elevated in the air facing me. Given that it's so hot, the water soothes my heated skin as it washes up my body and over my shoulders as I sit down on the sandy ocean floor."How's Hardin? Does he seem ok to you?" I ask out of concern."Yeah, I think so. Why? Has he been off with you?" Jackson question of out nosiness.Smiling, I shake my head a little. "No, I just feel bad. I wish he could have come with me."Jackson sighs. "Look, I'll keep him busy if I see him acting differently, alright?"Offering a smile, I blow him a kiss. "You're the best, thank you.""Yeah, yeah." He mu
Two weeks seem to drag. New York had a lot of options and places to visit, and while I do love this little island and the beauty of the ocean and the little animals, there's not much more to do than talk to locals, swim in the ocean and lay on the beach. It was nice for the first week, but as I near going home, it seems to drag a little.Maybe it's just because I'm dying to go home now that it's only a few days away?My phone is somehow still managing to take videos and pictures despite there being so many. To pass extra time, I've been learning tik tok dances although I haven't posted anything yet.Instead of dwelling on the fact that I leave this place, I leave my phone at the hut and I head to the beach with a towel to catch up the final hours of sunshine before it sets. One thing that I do absolutely love about this place, the sunsets are stunning. As a wolf, my skin will heal from damages due to the sun, I won't burn, and my skin won't dry out. I suppose that is a huge perk.**
"Mm." I sound, frowning slightly as I fidget about, trying to move but the blankets restrict me from doing so.Sighing, I turn my head and try to get comfortable, but something happening between my legs awakens me. Whatever it is, it feels good.Slowly opening my eyes, I glance down to see Hardin's piercing silver eyes gazing up at me as his tongue teases the soft flesh of my inner thighs."What are you doing?" I whisper huskily with sleep."Having breakfast." His lustful voice makes my entire body shudder. Before I can respond, his mouth dives between my thighs, and a breathless moan of surprise exits my body as his tongue teases my entrance.Holy shit! I thought, my head falling back against the pillows.**"You're looking chipper today." Jackson smirks at me the second I enter the kitchen.Ignoring the way my cheeks threaten to heat up, I give him a shrug."I'm happy I'm home." I say."Mhm."After making myself a hot chocolate, I head outside to see what Hardin's doing. To my conf
The rest of week Hardin and I find things to occupy ourselves with as we enjoy our final few days together. We have sex, take walks through the woods, we go swimming in the waterfall, we have sex, dinner, movies, sex, board games, drinking games, sex, go running as wolves together, sex, and sex, and more sex.So that's how we spent our week, not wasting a moment of time together through the day or night, right up until it's time to say goodbye. That's the hardest part, knowing I'm not going to see him, or be able to hug him, or sleep next to him for the next month.Given the threats, Hardin doesn't drive me to the airport, instead Beck takes us. So we say our goodbye before we leave, my heart aches as I once again leave Hardin behind, but for now it has to be this way so he can concentrate."Whatever happens, I want to know immediately. If I find out you kept it from me, I'll break your face." I whisper to Beck, hugging him outside the airport."Yes Alpha." Beck mumbles with distaste
"The pack would love it here." Jackson sighs wistfully, dipping his toes in the gorgeous rushing lake."They would." I agree softly, joining him on the rocks."I didn't think it would be like this." Jackson admits quietly after a few minutes of silence."Like what?" I ask, turning my head towards him."Lonely, I miss the pack." He admits.I nod my head, understanding completely. Being so far from them is strange, but I think it's worse now because we're not calling them. I don't want to distract Hardin from his training, so I haven't called yet, I plan on messaging him tonight when I know he'll be getting in the shower ready to go to bed."It's easier if you enjoy yourself and keep busy." I tell him with a comforting smile, pushing myself to my feet."Come on." I call, already heading off up the trail. We're currently at Newlands forest, it's a scenic woodland preserve with trails. It truly is just beautiful, for people who just love being surrounding by nature this place is for you,
"Kalli, get up they're bathing the elephants." Jackson's voice echoes through my head, but I groan and turn away."Kalli." Jackson sighs.Suddenly my legs are being grabbed, and I immediately lunge up and grip him by his throat, baring my canines as my eyes glow searing red."K-Kalli!" Jackson gasps in shock, trying to get me off of him.Immediately realising what I'm doing, I let go of Jackson's throat and stare down at him with wide eyes. The silence is heavy, and I know what he's going to say. For the past week I've been feeling strange, my emotions have been off, and I feel tired, and agitated by everything and everyone. I'm starving too, like constantly starving. Jackson doesn't know about that, he's just seen the mood swings and temper."Something is wrong with you." Jackson says softly, right on cue."I'll go to the doctor." I whisper, knowing I don't have a choice. I can't risk hurting him like that."Do you want me to come?" Jackson offers, sitting on the bed next to me.I sh
The entire flight home I couldn't sit still, I didn't mutter a single word. The moment that we land, I exit the plane faster than you can blink. My priority isn't Jackson as horrible as it sounds, I just need to get home. When we finally get out of the airport, we take a taxi home. Given that a war went down, I don't take the human anywhere near pack land."Go, I've got this." Jackson tells me.Nodding, I leave my bag and suitcase and I take off into the woods faster than I'd of thought possible. It's taken a whole day and night to get back home, while that has given me time to calm a little, I'm still scared. The further I run, the stronger I smell the stench of blood. It grows, and I run faster, my heart racing a million miles a minute. The borders to pack land are drenched in red, it's barely morning and I can see the dark crimson colour seeping into the plants and soil. I didn't care to investigate, I run, I sprint, I fucking gallop my way to the mansion.Beck waits for me outsid
"Kalli, it's Hardin's dad...can I come in?"For a moment I don't react, it takes a minute for what he said to sink in. Hardin's dad? I thought, the pain fading for a moment as confusion fills me.Not trusting my voice to work, I reluctantly move away from Hardin and slowly slide off the bed. I can't remember the last time I stood up, or showered, or even brushed my teeth. Somehow, I couldn't bring myself to care.Opening the door a crack, I glance over the Alpha male as if to check if he's telling the truth. I've never seen a photo of Hardin's parents, but somehow he resembles him. The same silver eyes blink down at me, offering me a small smile.Nodding slightly, I leave the door open and move back to the bed, sitting on the bottom and tucking my legs up. I eyeball the man as he enters the room, watching as his eyes glance over the machines and tubes, and needles attached to Hardin."The last time we spoke was almost seven years ago, I never would have imagined that this would be the
