Chris was in a good mood after John told him that Rita smiled when she received the KFC he had ordered for her. He believed it was just a matter of time before Rita opened up to him again.

To his shock, his mother had showed up at his office unannounced. Of course with nothing sensible to talk about apart from forcing him to marry Lydia who, according to Maria was cultured.

But Chris begged to differ. Someone cultured wouldn’t shamelessly throw herself at a man. 

“Mom, we’ve talked about this. I love someone else,” Chris said, groaning in frustration.

“Again with this nonsense. Bring her to me then. I want to meet her so that I stop troubling you,” Maria said.

All this time Chris’s heart was racing. He was internally praying that Rita stayed in her office because her meeting his mom was a non starter.
