56~ Secret relationship
In a VIP ward at the general hospital, Maria Stevens lay on the hospital bed with an IV connected to her arm, delivering fluids to her body.
Her husband Michael Stevens sat by her bedside holding her hand.
Maria chuckled at her husband’s nervous expression. Her eyes fluttered and she said, “you don’t have to look so scared. It’s not like I’m dying.”
“Stop saying that. You don’t know how afraid I was when you suddenly collapsed. Now you have to be admitted for a few days.” Michael said. He had been watering the garden at the mansion when some maids suddenly told him that his wife had fainted.
He had gotten the biggest scare of his life. Maria may be talkative but she loved him and stayed with him through thick and thin. Even if they were now old, he still didn’t want to lose her.
“Oh dear, look at your face. I’m fine. It’s nothing.” Maria said, trying to lift her husband’s mood.
