Thomas stared at her for a while, smiled, and said, “Well because you can’t speak, and won’t simply go around spreading it.”

Startled by this reply, Jessica stared at Thomas seriously, whose smile had started to fade. “You see, even mutes have their own use, that’s why you aren’t as awful as people make you out to be,” Thomas told her in a serious tone.

Jessica pursed her lips, a sense of warmth gushed from her heart.

When everyone was disgusted with her, treating her as an embarrassment, she never thought that there was someone that would consider her as anything but useless.

“Thank you,” she told him.

Thomas chuckled and glanced toward the window. Noticing the day getting dark, he said, “It’s getting late now, lets send you back home.”

Meanwhile, Blake left the party not long after his wife did. Instead of heading home, he went to the company.

During the weekends, besides the few employees that stayed on for overtime, the rest of the building was quite empty.
