I felt Everette’s gaze on me, but I tried to pretend that it did not bother me at all. Little by little, his tears were making me unconscious, and it was too damn hard to pretend that I was not affected at all.

“Remember when I said back then that I want to open a coffee shop where customers are also allowed to read whatever books they want while they are waiting for their orders?”

Poppy’s eyes brightened as she played with Sebastian’s hands.

“Oh, that one? Go for it. What are you waiting for? Bastian and I will always be at your back. We are always one call away, Poppy. Please remember that.”
