My hands are shaking as I read the words on the paper, written in Lauren’s unmistakable handwriting.

Denial is the first emotion that hits me. I mean, this can’t be real, right? This has to be some kind of a twisted prank played on me. I want to delude myself and say that this is too much to be real. It has to be some sort of nightmare.
