Chapter 65

"What?" I splutter, and that is when I make the mistake of loosening the force I have on the Rogue's neck.

He takes this as a chance to push my foot away and try to roll out of my way. But of course, my instincts kick in and I manage to grab him by the collar and push him back on the ground.

"What did you just say?" I demand, pushing him harder. "Tell me everything."

The Rogue opens his mouth as though to say something, but the only thing that gets out of his lips is a small laugh.

I admit. I'm not one to be easily thrown off but that makes me stumble over my own feelings. I came here knowing what's waiting for me and I didn't hesitate to do what I had to. All the other Rogues have left and I'm the only one standing here now. I know that I'm pretty much undeterred by anything at this point, but why am I suddenly nervous because of a small stupid smile?

"Are you trying to mess with me?" I ask in a harsh voice, pushing his head down and trying to intimidate him, but hurting people
