Chapter 33: Losing Cassie
I'm making my way over to the field where the horses are grazing. I got a horse collar in my hand. Edmond, the farmer I work for, has requested me to get one of the horses back to the stable. As I'm walking along in the fields, I see a beautiful girl. She’s crying. I'm sure that she lives in the village, but I'm not supposed to talk to anyone in the village. Edmond has warned me about going into the village, as they will banish me if they find out what I am.

The next day, even though I knew that I wouldn't see Katie, I went to the place where we used to meet up. Memories of me and Katie flooded my mind and made me miss her all the more. I blinked away some tears. Would I ever see her again? My eyes fell on the spot where I proposed to her, a letter had been placed underneath a stone. I bent down and picked it up. It looked a bit battered, but it was still readable. The letter was addressed to me. I opened the envelope to read it, and my heart stopped. The letter was from Katie, she was writing to tell me that she was expecting and that I was the father. All common sense left me and I made my way to the village. I needed to see Katie. I didn't care who I would have to fight to get to her. I knew that her mother was the high priestess and that they lived in the middle of the village, so that was where I was heading.
