My breath catches in my throat immediately Xander says those words. Calling me his mistress might be one thing, but he didn’t do that. not even his wife to be. He literally addressed me as his luna and mate, in front of his whole pack.

That should terrify me, that should have made me get up from this seat and run until my legs stop moving and my breathing stops but it doesn’t. Instead, a weird sense of satisfaction fills me and I feel confident. Sitting down, alone in this place with more than a thousand people below me, I don’t feel small or insignificant. I feel big, and important and it is all because of him. The man I thought wanted nothing more than to ruin me.
