ALPHA XANDER’S POV

Carlson glares at me when I walk back into the mine and Adriana’s new bedroom. Donovan has been moved to the bed and I’m guessing he had something to do with it. The doctor doesn’t look like she can do anything like that, although lycan’s strength can’t be told from just their physical appearance. I have picked him up before so I know it is no easy feat.

“There’s only a level of disrespect I’ll take from you, kid.” His glare gets worse if that is even possible. He throws a leg off the bed and sits up then stalks toward me.

“You just left me here,” I cock a brow daringly, I watch him waver a little and satisfaction fills me. After hearing just a glimpse of Adriana’s childhood, I want to make every single one of them that made her feel like she was worth nothing, pay.
