65: Dog Hunt

ALPHA XANDER’S POV

I’ve never heard Donovan this quiet in his entire life since I first met him when I was five, and running through the halls with my nannies following me around. He has always had something to say, but this time he chose to keep all his crazy thoughts to himself. I couldn’t say I was complaining.

The only noise in the car was that of the engine running. The pain in my chest had intensified, reaching levels I didn’t know possible. If there was ever a physical representation of what it was like to have the life squeezed out of your heart, then it would be what I was experiencing right now. I held back the growl that was making it up my chest, Donovan’s hands tightened on the wheel.

The issue at the pack was under control and things have gone back to normal, as normal as they could after an attack like that, totally unexpected. Save for those that were injured, no one actually died which was very impressive seeing how we weren’t prepared.
