Chapter 14 Meraki's Chosen

It was four days since her interrogation. The only interaction after that was with staff members, always accompanied by someone with combat experience, She knew she was lucky to still be alive, she did not cooperate well and she was sure that there would be consequences to her actions.

Food was dropped off at random times during the day, clean clothing was also added with small necessities. She kept the bandage on just so that there would not be further damage to her eyes. She applied the medicine provided and made sure that it was kept clean. By now she has started getting her feel around the room. The room did not feel like a holding cell, but more like a room in a house. There was also an adjacent bathroom.

Her breathing also stabilized, it was something to get used to. She touched the bandage covering her eyes, and carefully removed it. After she removed the gauze she slowly opened her eyes, it was still sensitive to the light but her vision was more clear. She blinked
