Chapter 14

For two days, Yanis could only watch Dorathy play with her phone. Dorathy wasn't playing hard to get, but she knew they weren't in the same league. She didn't want to have unrealistic expectations.

"I didn't want to leave, but I have to go back to work. Don't worry, I'll visit you another time. Don't miss me too much, okay?" he told her.

"Why would I miss you?" she asked.

"You must have gotten used to my charming face. I'm sure you won't want to see the faces of your other suitors again," he sighed.

"You've stared at my handsome face so much that your standards have become high," he added.

Dorathy scoffed, thinking he was so full of himself.

"I paid your director a lot. I'm sure he'll give you a lot of money. After all, I'm generous. I'll treat you to a meal when I'm less busy to show my gratitude," he told her.

"You don't need to show gratitude to me. It's my duty as a nurse," she said.

Yanis laughed.

"Come on, don't be so formal. We'll soon be boyfriend and girlfriend," he told her.
