"Is it really him?" Mike asked Johanna after receiving the information. He didn't want to get his hopes up and then get frustrated, as had happened in other cases, where the death of a criminal, from whom they were protecting someone, had been a false alarm, that was too dangerous. 

"According to what I've been told, his face isn't completely disfigured, so you can recognize him from the archive photos. He also seems to have fingerprints on some of his fingers, which match those in the system. But anyway, the Homicide guys said we could go and see for ourselves, if you want." She shrugged, while her partner quickly got up and put on a jacket, which had previously been hanging on the back of the chair.
