Chapter 23 Budlets of Truth

Elle’s POV 

After Scout left, Corvin shut the door behind him and then fell back on it before he looked her over. He looked relieved. For the first time since dinner started, she didn’t feel like a piece of meat on his dinner plate. 

His grey eyes still appraised her appreciatively. The hungry looks he was giving her brought pleasurable gooseflesh to her entire body and eager anticipation within. He moved from the door.

Instead of sitting next to her again, Corvin sat on the edge of a chair. He looked poised to strike at any moment. The question enchanted Elle- how far would they make it this time if he did make moves on her?

“Come. It is getting late, and you are tired.” He said, standing quickly. He felt indecisive and cagey.
