Days Later: (Inside Denise’s dream)

“I curse you.” The voice was loud, louder than she’d ever heard it. And the scene that surrounded her was vivid, more vivid than before. The darkness that had been lurking was no more. Instead, she could clearly make out people around her, those she’d never seen before. They were watching her, and each of their faces beared nothing but fear. But they didn’t move, as if there was something amidst the blood beneath them that held them captive.

“I curse you!” The voice slammed against her eardrums, and Denise’s hands flew up, shielding them as her bulged eyes instinctively searched for the one who’d spoken. But just like the rest of the nights she’d dreamt of the same thing, the owner of the voice had not shown herself. Denise took a step back, then dashed in the other direction. She didn’t know where she was running to, but she desperately wanted to get out…out of this nightmare.
