Chapter 41 - Betrayal

Jennifer's eyes fell on Asher who was looking at her with confusion as by his question, her behavior changed completely.

"What's wrong?" He asked getting up from the bed, coming closer to her with his manly gaze, distracting her again.

"Umm... nothing's wrong. I just remembered something, see you later!" She kept laughing to hide her nervousness and started leaving the room but he stopped her by holding her wrist and she started praying to God hoping he wouldn't know the truth!

"Where were you going before I came outside the room?" He asked and this time, it wasn't his usual sweet tone, it was more like he was interrogating a culprit.

"I was just going towards the Garden to stroll around!" She replied timidly and it wasn't hard for him to know that she was lying by her expressions and body movements.

"Then why aren't you using the wheelchair? Didn't I tell you not to limp around like this?" He shouted at her for the first time which made her eyes glossy.
