Deimos POV The sun is shining right in my eyes, and my head is pounding. I roll over in the bed, hoping to hide my eyes from the sun, but I am closer to the edge than I thought, and I flip off the side. Liz POV There is a faint dripping noise in the darkness of the dungeons, and it is driving me insane. Besides the dripping noise, there is only the sound of Dainn breathing in the cell next to me. Every so often, he begins coughing and doesn’t stop for several minutes. The coughing fits almost always end up with him puking in the corner of his cell. I wish there was a way that I could comfort him, but he makes sure to stay on the other side of his cell, far away from me. Deimos POV “I will kill you.” Osiris’s voice is cold and threatening. “Let me speak to Liz.” I am nervous for the first time in my life. My voice is caught in my throat. Liz POV The chill of the dungeons disappears, and the warmth of the sun is on my face. I can feel soft grass under my skin. I stretch lazily under the sun and let my eyes flutter open. The light around me is blinding. I shield my eyes from the light with my hands and attempt to look around me. As the world comes into focus, I realize that I know this place. This is the field behind the Moonstone pack house. This is the place where my birth parents died. But there is no sign of death or destruction. It is quiet and serene. Patches of wildflowers are growing across the field. There is a warm breeze that blows through my hair. Pushing my hair out of my eyes, I look around. Liz POV Tracy is struggling against the bars. The smell of her flesh burning against the silver is filling the air around us. I don’t know where I am finding the strength to hang onto her, but I refuse to let her go. I hear Dainn shuffling around in the cell beside me, but I don’t dare take my eyes off Tracy. If I knew how to kill her right now, I would. She has made my life a living hell, and now it is my turn to return the favor. “You can’t kill her like this,” Dainn’s hoarse voice coaches me. “You are wasting precious energy.” Tracy’s arms fall limp at her side and she stops whimpering.
