Chapter 28 A strong protective shield

Ethan called for a cab through an app he trusted. He gave all info details about the ride Lexy should be riding home written in a piece of paper.

“You must have dropped the phone in the alley earlier,” Ethan said as he handed Lexy the memo paper. “This is the cab’s plate number and in case you have any complaints, this is their service hotline.”

Lexy realized she had no phone with her. And as he heard the man’s words, she recalled trying to press on her speed dial when one of the guys grabbed her phone.

“Yeah, one of those idiots smashed my phone to the ground without mercy,” Lexy pouted in annoyance. “I hope to find it and get the important data stored in it.”

“I’m sure you’ll find it,” Ethan gently assured Lexy.

“I really hope so,” Lexy sighed, then she started to walk out of the room. “I should get going.”

“Do you mind if I send you to your ride?” Ethan pleaded. “At least, let me speak to the driver and make sure you reach home safely, please?”

Lexy nodded.
