67 - I Knew It
Thankfully, a week after Mae jumped, Rae got what she was waiting for … I got a call from the front desk in my building, saying there was a messenger asking for me. I ran down while Rae was in the shower and attempted to interrogate the guy.
“I don’t know nothing man, this lady last week, she paid me $500 cash and said I had to bring this box here on this date, and leave it only in your hands. She texted me your picture,” he said, holding up his phone.
It was a picture Rae took of us the day after we moved in together. I fished $200 out of my pocket and gave it to him.
