Chapter 41 - Memories

The road I walked on was made of pure light. Everything else surrounding me was a dark void.

I’ve been here before…

I was sure I had walked this road in the past. There was a familiarity to it. Something that made me feel as though we were old friends reuniting once again. But every time I came close to replacing the memory, it slipped through my fingers like falling sand.

Why was I here, though? I couldn’t remember what had happened before I woke on the lighted strip.

I had no clue who I was and what brought me to this place. I even thought of my name, but my name—or what I possibly thought my name was—kept sliding on my tongue.

Strange…

As I continued walking down the winding path, the darkness around me seemed to thicken. Just when I was about to turn back, a sudden flash of light caught my eye, illuminating the area beyond the road. I couldn’t resist my curiosity and walked to the side of the lighted road, my feet stopping close to the edge. It looked like one of those old movies p
