Yasmin felt a pang in her heart, and she gaped.

"Is he inside?"

"Yes," Joel softly said.

Yasmin hesitated, but she moved forward and walked inside.

Malcolm was in disbelief. He wanted to enter, but Joel stopped him.

He was puzzled as he turned to Joel. "Dr. Sawyer."

"Stay here." Joel looked at Malcolm with a meaningful gaze. "Let Yasmin go in alone. You don't need to follow."

"But… But isn't Mr. Ford…" Malcolm was on the verge of tearing up.

Joel sighed. "I tricked her. But you're a grown man. Why are you so softhearted?"

Malcolm was taken aback and swiftly wiped away his tears. "So you lied to Mrs. Ford?"

"Otherwise, why would she look so heartbroken?" Joel wanted to help Yasmin take a step forward and admit her true feelings.

Yasmin hurriedly pushed open the operating room door.

She walked up and saw Blake lying on the bed. He looked pale under that white blanket.
