Chapter 35

Vanessa:

I sat alone in my room, tears streaming down my cheeks,I couldn't believe Kimberly would hide things from me, the feeling of betrayal that consumed me, never before had I felt so utterly abandoned, so completely deceived by someone I had thought I could trust.

My mother's concerned voice drifted in from the hallway.

"Vanessa darling what's the problem? You've been sulking since yesterday, Is it a boy problem, you know you can talk to me baby?" I ignored her plea for an explanation.

How could I possibly begin to explain that my best friend since forever is hiding things from me, like I am a nobody.

Just as I was about to get up from the bed, my phone rang, the familiar tone of Kimberly's ringtone piercing through the silence. With a sigh, I picked up the phone, fully intending to give her a piece of my mind.

But as soon as I put the phone to my ears, I heard Kimberly's tearful voice on the other end of the line. I immediately forgot about the grudge I had with her.
