** Years later...**
"Oh my goodness! There are six babies here! Six!!" Bay rushed into the examination room to check the ultrasound machine.
"Look at it. One, two, three, four, five, six."
"Yes, yes! I see it! Oh my goodness! That's impossible!" Bay screamed with her eyes wide open.
"This is truly unbelievable; this rarely happens," Doctor Remo agreed as they both turned to look at Anna, who was sitting on the examination bed staring at them blankly.
"Anna! Anna!!" Bay rushed to touch her, and that was when she blinked.
"Huh? What?"
"You are carrying six babies in you, six!" Anna lifted her fingers and counted.
"Huh?" Anna frowned not understanding. She was already seven months pregnant.
"Yes, Anna, sextuplets," Bay tried explaining.
Anna smiled at the memory and picked up one of her baby's pictures. She went over the pictures to remember how small her children were whenever she was free. Nothing gave her more joy than looking at the pictures of her children, who were no longer babies by the way.
The children would be turning six soon, and Lady Mary had made her promise to them that they would see their father as soon as they turned six. The children had been so excited when Anna told them this.
They had really been asking about their father, and now she knew the kids wouldn't easily hear no for an answer.
After going through a whole album, Anna picked up another album and started going through it.
"You do that every time. It's been years and you can't stop yourself from doing that," Bay said as she watched Anna from the door.
"Can I come in?"
"Yes, do come in," Anna smiled as she put the albums away.
"I also can't believe how fast they have grown. Was it not just yesterday that Rico took his first step? I can't believe they'll be turning 6 soon. Damn it! Kids grow up too fast, you know. Seeing them slowly turning into adults is a little hard for me. I know it'll be harder on you as you are their mom," Bay smiled.
"It's hard, but it's also my joy to see such beautiful growth. I would be sad if they did not grow like their mates."
"Yes, that's true," Bay giggled.
"The D-Day is approaching, and I'm so nervous for you. I honestly don't know how the godfather will react to this. I hope he doesn't get mad at you or the children," Bay sighed, but Anna kept quiet.
She hardly engages in discussion about him or even dares to have an opinion about him.
"But I don't think he'll reject the kids. No, he won't do that. No normal being will do that. I mean, look at the boys' resemblance. They are his carbon copy. Once he sees himself in them, he won't hesitate to accept them. He will, he has to," Bay kept mumbling.
"Hey, should we go out tonight?" Anna immediately changed the topic.
"Where? To the club?"
"Yes, to a club."
"Are you sure you want to go clubbing? Or do you just want to see your brother?" Bay whispered.
"Honestly, I want to go clubbing. Cross my heart, no lies," Anna promised.
"I would get mad if you snuck out on me in the middle of everything."
"Please? We will soon leave Washington. I just want to experience what it feels like hanging out over here. I'm dead serious," Anna pleaded.
"Okay deal, we will leave the house once the kids fall asleep, but firstly, I'll sort out our dresses for the night," Bay giggled and stood up. She went to Anna's closet and began looking for suitable attire for their night out.
Bay has become a huge part of Anna's life; she is almost like a sister. She was there during the whole pregnancy, childbirth, and continues to be there. The kids love her, and she doesn't hesitate to spoil them, but Anna sometimes worries that Bay could over-pamper them.
They have given her all sorts of funny and sweet nicknames, which she loves and appreciates. She is their second nanny, and Anna greatly appreciates her presence in the house.
The gate starts opening, and car horns fill the compound, signifying that the kids were home. Anna smiled and got up.
"Mom? Mom?" She could hear one of her kids calling out to her before she even got down the stairs.
"Mom, I'm hungry," Riccardo, the third child, and second boy, grumbled as he walked to her.
"I'm sure the cooks already have something prepared for you guys," Anna replied as she hugged him."
"Mom, me too! I'm also hungry. I could eat a lion," Stella, one of her four girls, said as she came to hug her.
"Me too!" Elena and Luna didn't hesitate to join the protest.
"I'm not hungry," Aldora, the last child to come out, said and that got Anna interested.
"Why, honey? Why are you not hungry?"
"She got into a fight with Rico," Luna didn't waste time spilling the beans.
"You two got into a fight? Over what? Come here, Rico," she called out to the first child. Rico and Riccardo were the only boys; the rest were girls.
"Yes, Mom," Rico answered once he got to her presence.
"Why did you and your sister fight?" Anna asked, taking her hands to her waist.
"She didn't want to get in the car so I yelled at her," Rico explained.
Anna turned to look at Aldora, "Is that true, Dora?"
"Yes, I just wanted to say goodbye to my friend Sarah. I asked for a minute, but he yelled at me for it, and that got me angry," Aldora replied.
"And did you explain to them what you wanted to do beforehand?"
"No," Aldora shook her head.
"Alright, it's not a big deal, guys. This is not worth getting angry over. Sometimes it's okay to fight, but we should always learn how to settle our differences so we can live in peace, am I right?"
"Yes, Mom," they all replied.
"So who is going to apologize first? The first to apologize wins..."
"I'm sorry, I won't do that again, Rico," Aldora immediately apologized.
"I'm sorry for yelling too," Rico apologized."
"So who is hungry now?" Anna asked again, and the kids jumped as they replied to her.
While the kids surrounded her and kept asking for food, Anna saw Rico leave for his room quietly. He always did that, barely spending time with his other siblings. He preferred being alone, which Anna didn't like at first, but Bay told her that it was perfectly okay for him to love his privacy.
Bay said that each child was different, even if they all came out on the same day and time. They all had their different destinies.
Anna had the kids change their clothes before allowing them to eat. Once the kids were done eating and were now having their baths, Anna left to join Rico in his room.
He shared the same room with Riccardo, but you could rarely find Riccardo in the room. He always spent time with his sisters, so he did most of his things in their room.
Being sure that Rico was alone and probably working on his assignment, Anna joined him.
"Do you need any help with that?" Anna asked once she got into the room.
"No, it's not that difficult," Rico replied. Here is one strange thing about Rico: he never complained about his schoolwork. He solved every problem given to him without much thinking and also didn't ask many questions.
Anna wondered how Rico learned so much when he rarely asked questions. The other kids had bothered her a lot concerning who their father was, but Rico had never opened his mouth to ask. Most of the time, you'll find him watching. He observes a lot and his rate of maturity sometimes scares Anna.
"So, when will you eat? Your siblings are done eating. You can go down and eat now," Anna said.
"I'll be down after I'm done with my schoolwork. I'll also take a shower," Rico informed.
Anna smiled and sat down beside him as she watched him work. After he was done, he took a shower and came out soon in his normal wear, ready to have his lunch.
"Let's go, Mom," Rico said, and Anna pulled him closer.
"Rico, do I make you uncomfortable?" Anna asked.
"No, Mom. I feel more comfortable around you than I am with others," Rico answered.
"But you don't tell me things. You don't even ask me questions. Don't you have some questions to ask?" Anna stared at him as he focused his attention on the floor.
"Mom, I just don't know what to say. And I'm afraid to ask questions. My questions might make you uncomfortable," Rico revealed.
"So you do have questions to ask," Anna chuckled, and Rico bobbed his head twice.
"Could this question be related to your father? I'm sure you are more curious about him."
"No, I know who Dad is already. I just didn't say it."
"What? And who is he?" Anna asked, becoming curious now.
"I know he is a known criminal, he is a godfather," Rico said and Anna gasped in shock as she let go of him.
"What?? How did you find out?"
"What can I get for you, miss?" The bartender asked."Just make me a bomb, please." Anna smiled at the bartender and he proceeded to make her drink. After receiving her glass, she downed the entire drink in one gulp and asked for another. As she sat watching men and women dance to the music, she noticed Bay and a stranger dancing closely and she smirked at her friend. The bartender then offered her another drink, but Anna declined, stating she had had enough. Despite her attempt to distract herself, she couldn't stop thinking about her conversation with Rico earlier about his discovery regarding his father.*Flashback*"I know he is a known criminal, he is a godfather.""What?? How did you find out?" Anna was taken aback."I just know, Mom," Rico replied casually.Anna pressed him further, asking how he found out and warning him not to tell his siblings."I overheard some of the guards talking about it and did my own investigation," Rico explained."You haven't told your siblings abo
Daddy!!"Yes there, take the table to that angle. Yes yes! Everything must be perfect, nothing must go wrong this year, nothing." Lady Mary yelled as the maids work tirelessly to get the room ready for the special gathering of the mafia organization. This year's gathering is quite special because the Mafia bosses are coming with their girlfriends, wives or even side chick to the gathering but of course, no Mafia boss will love to come with a side chick, they always come with their wives or the most elegant looking lady they lay their eyes on. Everything for them is competition. The bosses will always buy the best outfits for their wives/girlfriends so they can outshine other bosses' women. In a normal world, men might not care much about how their women look when coming to a gathering but this is a criminal world, it's far from normal so they do get their women the best stuff."I can see how much work you are doing this year," Bambina, godfather's underboss came to stand beside Lady
My children?"What do you mean by they are my children Mary?" Ace turned to face Mary."Padrino I'll explain everything that happened, please give me a chance.""Explain everything that happened right now, I'm losing my patience." Ace snapped and Lady Mary started from the night Anna served him.Ace took his hand to his forehead in total disappointment. "Did Father ask you to do this? Tell me!!" Ace barked clearly angry."Yes... Yes, Padrino." Mary answered fearfully.Ace scoffed and muttered something under his breath."Padrino can...""Get out Mary, I don't want to see you." Ace groaned and Lady Mary shut her mouth before quietly leaving the room. The door opened and Cosimo came in."I heard everything, I listened from the door, I was getting angry thinking you hid your kids from me but I'm glad it's not the case," Cosimo said and took a sit."What are you going to do now, Ace? Seems like your father caught on, he has ruined your plans." Cosimo said as he watched Ace ruffle his hai
At the poolNext day at the pool party. The bosses could be seen having the best time of their life with their women after the meeting was concluded. Light romantic music played in the background and some of the women danced to it while others stayed with their men.Ace was just about to retire to his room when one of his guards rushed to him and whispered something into his ear. Ace left for his room at once, from afar he could see Anna standing in front of his door with her head lowered. He walked faster until he got to her, she lifted her head and Ace immediately recognized her. "Come in," he muttered and opened the door to his room. Anna walked in and Ace followed, he shut the door and walked to the sofa to sit."Have your sit," Ace pointed and Anna walked to the sofa opposite his. She glanced around the room once and took her gaze down again."You are Anna.""Yes," Anna said."Do you also work for my father?" Ace questioned and confused Anna looked up at him."Your father? No,
In his room"Is he... Is he dead?" Anna tried to look at the lifeless man but Ace blocked her."Let's go," he said. Ace led Anna to his room."You can have your sit," he said as he went in search of something she could wear in his closet, Anna took a sit, still startled by what happened."Try not to think of it," Ace advised as soon as he came out from the closet. He dropped the shirt he brought with him on the bed and asked her to change into it."Huh?" Anna looked at him, confused by his request."Aren't you spending the night here? Or do you have a dress to change into?" Ace questioned staring back at her."Oh-oh, I could ask Bay to...""Just change into it, I'll be outside." Ace interrupted before leaving her alone in the room.Anna stood up and walked to the bed, she took the shirt and examined it, the shirt was quite long and could get to her thigh if she wears it.But it's his shirt, I've never worn a man's shirt. Not even Desmond's, Anna thought.Anna gently dropped the shirt
Bambina's trouble"Is it true that Padrino has a woman? That he has children with her too? Is it true?" Bambina asked as she tried to hold back her tears."Calm down Bambina, calm down. Here, wipe your tears first," Cosimo found some tissue and gave it to her. Bambina slapped the tissue away angrily. "Answer me!! Just answer me!" Bambina yelled."It is true, yes, he has a woman. Yes, he has children with her," Cosimo walked to his bed and sat down, he was no longer feeling so sleepy."When? How? When did it all happen? How did it happen? Explain to me." Bambina walked to him."You will have to calm down before I say a word Bambina, the last thing I need is someone yelling out their lungs so early." "Just spill it Cosimo, just tell me," Bambina demanded."Do you prefer I go back to sleep? I still feel sleepy, maybe you should wake me up when you are calm, or better still go yell at the Don."Cosimo laid down on the bed and did as if he was going to sleep."Just tell me, I'm calm tel
A gift "It's time, it's officially time to meet your kids," Cosimo said in excitement as he held the car door open for Ace.Ace shook his head at his Consigliere's childish attitude and got into the car, the meeting got concluded last night and he was finally returning to his mansion.Cosimo sat down beside the driver and instructed him to leave, the driver started the vehicle and drove out of the compound."What about the results I asked for?" Ace asked."Oh the results, I forgot to give you the result but they all came out positive, all six of them," Cosimo informed and Ace relaxed against his sit."Are you nervous? Don't tell me you are nervous.""I'm not, shut it!"Ace scoffed."But why do you have that look on your face? And is that a sweat I see there?" Cosimo said teasingly. The driver cleared his voice and Cosimo gawked at him."What? Do you have something to say?" Cosimo glared at him."No sir, forgive me, sir.""Just focus on what you are doing, I'll have your head if you li
The dinningSame Day. At the dining.Anna gathered the children at the dining when it was dinner time and they all happily came out including Rico. Bay and Cosimo joined the dinner shortly and the only person left was Ace."Is Daddy not joining us for dinner, Mom?" The kids curiously asked."Of course he is, he will be down soon," Cosimo answered the kids."So guys before your daddy joins us, you need to tell me about yourselves, so who is starting first?" Cosimo looked at them."What do you want to know about us?" Riccardo asked."Um... Who are your friends back in America and were you guys sad because you were leaving them? How much do you like it here? Do you like it here better or not?" Cosimo lined up his questions as he tried to engage the kids.Anna and Bay exchanged a few glances as the kids reply Cosimo."I think you should go and check on him again," Bay whispered to Anna when Ace didn't show up after some time. Anna shook her head reluctantly."Rico, can you bring your da
