Chapter 32 Not Forever

Xander's eyes widened, disbelief etched across his face. The concept of not being able to find his true mate, his destined companion, was a cruel twist of fate. The bond between mates was sacred among our kind, and this curse threatened to sever it.

But the knowledge that he won’t be able to scent her gave me relief. I didn’t want to be a selfish person, but I didn’t want to lose him.

The room came back to normalcy, and Daisy came back to her form, her eyes still held the signs of her powers. Her breaths were ragged, and she was still reeling from the effect of her power.

“Can it be broken?” I asked in a small voice.

“Huh?” Daisy asked absentmindedly.

“The curse. Can it be broken?” I asked again, afraid of the words that might leave Daisy’s mouth.
