Chapter 40 – Gabriel is concerned for Dexter's concern for Doreen

Earlier that day

Dexter was in his office when his secretary brought his morning coffee. Without as much as lifting his eyes from what he was doing, he asked, just as the secretary was about to go away.

“Where is Doreen? Why have you brought me coffee these past few days?” Dexter thought Doreen had taken a short leave or was busy for which reason she had not brought his coffee, not expecting it to continue forever.

His secretary turned around, looking confused. Doreen was not the secretary so why was her boss demanding that she brought him his coffee?

“Sir, I am responsible for your coffee.”

Dexter lifted his head and his expression was unfriendly and his tone carried a rare chagrin. “Should I query you for allowing her to serve my coffee in the morning, and fruits in the afternoon when it was not her job?”

The secretary bit her lips. Indeed, it was wrong for her to allow Doreen to be serving the boss’s coffee. The first day, she pretended to be sick and when Doreen sent his coff
