34. Pouting

Denny watched Trisha's every move, every expression, and every emotion visible in her tiny little face. He was so amused at how she was trying to deal with everything righteously, despite the consequences of angering her client for waiting too long.

"What are you still doing there?" Denny asked casually. He wasn't angry, but he made his voice sound unhappy. "Do I have to wait for more?"

"Mister Vero, I cannot leave the hallway this way," Trisha replied wearily. "I am afraid someone might get injured if they slide on the wet floor," she explained.

Denny pouted. He felt like his smile was about to show as he confirmed a thought of her trying to be rational despite making her client wait. Had she been another girl, Denny would have called for someone else to replace her the moment she got delayed. But his patience for this girl is quite impressive.
