59. Spice the fun

Despite knowing all rationality, the young girl still felt aggrieved. And she could not smile as sweetly as she was supposed to. Denny was about to take a bite of food on his own, but as he lifted his eyes, he saw a drop of tears on the table next to Trisha's food. He froze from his seat, and his eyes slowly traveled up to her face.

"Trisha...?"

The girl was looking down on her food. Denny could not see her face clearly, so he called her name to make her look up to him. And she did.

"..." Trisha was swallowing her spit with so much difficulty.

"What's wrong?" asked her client.

In Denny's eyes, her smile was too unnatural. Her face was sporting a sad smile, with her lips' corners upturned, but her eyes were clouded with tears. His voice and tone were soft and gentle this time and Trisha felt her emotions pop like an over-puffed balloon.

"Please, don't be mad at me," Trisha sobbed with her hands covering her lips.
