Bk 3, Ch 24: Rose
Do you know why phone companies make their ring tones so annoying? It’s because people won’t answer their phones if something awesome plays. This is why I set annoying ringtones for the people I love, and awesome ringtones I could dance to for the spam calls.
So, when an obnoxious ringtone woke me up the morning after mine and Kimi’s ER visit, I couldn’t ignore it. It was Mrs. Graycort. Can I just say how weird it is to wake up naked in my boyfriend’s bed, and have his mother calling me?
“Hi,” I answered groggily. It wasn’t quite noon, but it would be after noon back home. “How are things back home?”
“Rose Harriet Braedon. I want to know if you’re okay,” she said sternly.

I came home from the restaurant to find a very sleepy and very annoyed Kimia. She was waiting up for me on the couch, and I use the term waiting up loosely. Her eyes were half open, and she looked like she was mesmerized by the television. Glancing at the screen told me that whatever she had been watching had ended some time ago.“I thought she’d be back at her sorority tonight.” Jimmy said. I had to smirk. I tapped my pencil on the table in the library’s study room that I reserved for my tutoring sessions, and checked the time. Again. My student was late. I shouldn’t care, because I charge for my time no matter what, and I get my students through the university tutoring center so they track my appointments and make sure I get paid. Still, it was annoying to be stuck here waiting for someone who was struggling with basic math when I could be spending the night with my friends.“Sorry I’m,” a voice called as a girl entered the room, “late.”I looked up and saw Bethany, Rina’s roommate, staring at me in shock. “Hello, Bethany.
