“Thanks for paying for all of us, Ray,” Elli said as we got off the plane in Mexico. “I’ve never been out of the country before.”
Ray, who was walking with his arm around his fiance, looked back at us. “No problem. It’s my last spring break before I graduate, so I thought we’d do it up in style.”
I chanced a look at Saoirse. She and I had chipped in for ourselves, Rachel, Elli, and Lachlan. We were happy enough to let Ray take the credit. The three of us had found an awesome beach house to rent for the week, and we were planning on spending the whole time relaxing on the beach, taking in the local night scene, and just having fun.
The house was a two hour cab ride away, and it was beautiful. The pictures didn’t do it justice. It was three stories, white with balconies,
Sorry for the delay in updates. Between being sick, losing my computer, and massive writer's block, I have found it difficult to log in. I'll try to do better, and I hope you're enjoying the family's spring break!
Mexico is beautiful! The beaches are white, the ocean an amazing shade of blue, and the house we rented is to die for! I might have to persuade my brother to go in with me to buy it. It’d be nice to have a place to soak up some sun and relax. The downside is that there isn’t really anywhere to shift when you’re feeling like shit. I asked Rose about the shifter myths in Mexico, and, except the one about the chupacabra, she didn’t really know any. I still didn’t want to be mistaken for the goat eating cryptid, so shifting was out.Thank goodness I had Lachlan in misery with me. Being around couples for the whole week would grate on my nerves, but knowing he was going through a similar hell helped. I hadn’t asked him if he’d told Elli his feelings for her, and I wouldn’t be sur
“Do you regret not going with Kimi or Rina on their spring break vacations?” Rose asked two days into the break. We were lying in my bed, and I was exhausted and curled around her.“Humm,” I pretended to think. “Do I regret not going to a tropical beach in another country with our siblings, or not going with Kimi to a big city with lots of distractions?”“Yeah,” she said as she wiggled her ass closer to me. She almost got me going again, but she had worn me out not that long ago. “I know you only came home because I was homesick.”I smirked. “No, I don’t regret coming home. I’m happy wherever you are.”She rolled around to face me, a
“You guys had so much fun!” I squealed as Kimi and Chrissy showed me pictures from their week in Boston.“I wanted to try the Freedom Trail, but Nate talked me out of it since it’s a three mile walk,” Kimi smiled at some pictures she had taken with Nate. “This one is Fenway Park.”“I dragged her there,” Nate chuckled.I looked at the picture, and there were quite a few people with them. “Who are the girls with bright hair?”“Oh,” Chrissy said. “Those are my friends. They’re magpies.”“So they store a lot of things?” Lusa asked.
The rest of the week in Mexico passed with a lot of fun, alcohol, and sun. All of us left with either tans or burns. Saoirse was bright red while Rachel and I had golden sheens on our skin. Elli didn’t really tan, but she didn’t burn either. She and Lachlan had been weird around each other since that first night we went clubbing. I ended up confronting him Thursday evening at one of the clubs. “So, what happened between you and Elli?”He had sipped his cervesa and stared at the dance floor where Elli and Jimmy were grinding and laughing. “What makes you think something happened between us?”“You’re sort of avoiding each other,” I said while bumping his shoulder.
The apartment in Gayl was becoming more and more like home to me. Walking through the apartment door Sunday before school started felt like a weight was lifting off my shoulders. Granted, Kimi and I still needed to finish the nursery for our little girl, and we still had school, but we were happiest here. At least I was, anyway.I guess Kimi wasn’t as happy. She waddled into our room, and fell onto the bed on her back. “Ugh,” she grunted, “would you be offended if I said I miss the bed in Boston?”I chuckled. “Not at all. It was a damn comfortable bed..”“Much bigger than this full size one,” she said and rolled over so she could sit up. “I swear if this little girl gets much bigger, we’ll need a bigger bed.&r
“Welcome back, everyone,” Professor Anderson greeted the class when she walked into the room. “I hope everyone had a fun, safe spring break? I see we’re still missing a few people. Hopefully they return before the next class. In the meantime, please go to the class webpage.”I already had it up, so I just scanned the page looking for what I expected her to click. I found it under the assessments tab. “I would hope you all are intelligent enough to find what I’d like you to do today, but in case you’re hung over, or not up to your best mental state, find the assessments tab, and click on the test titled, ‘Post Spring Break Quiz.’“The password is capital ‘I’ underscore, paid, underscore, too, with two ‘o’s, underscore, much, underscor
Blake finally managed to push the door to the men’s room open. He broke the lock in the process, but the screaming he heard terrified him. He regretted not being faster when he observed the scene.A man was lying under a broken urinal with eye wide open, and unfocused. His jaw was slack, and a shocking amount of blood was pooled under his head. He looked back out into the hall, and grabbed a random student. “Call 911, and get someone here, now!”The student glanced into the bathroom. “Holy shit!”Blake carefully walked around the body to the woman shuddering in a ball against the wall of the open stall. “Hey,” he said gently. “Are you okay?” He reached a hand to her shoulder, and she flinched.
“I want to see my fiance. I need to know she’s okay,” I shouted at the officer at the front desk of the police station.Kimi put a hand on my shoulder. “Kam, calm down. They have to go through the hoops. Besides, Officer West sounded like someone who is fair.”I spun to face my sister. “My fiance and your best friend is back there by herself, probably scared to death, and the only people available to her are people in our uncle’s pocket. I’m not going to calm down until I know she’s safe!”“Kam, you making a scene isn’t going to get her out here faster,” Nate tried to reason. He turned to the officer. “Is there someone who can come out and tell us what happened?”
