Chapter 31. Red is the colour of the day

My arm hurt, my legs ache from kneeling for hours in the car and I am sore. Ace doesn't let go even when I continue to scream my lungs out and rain curses on him. Only a miracle would save me from this man.

Ace pushes the door open, dragging me inside like a rebellious teenage daughter.

Doctor Clara frowns immediately when she sees us. I must look awful with my hair scattered and mascara running down my face.

"Mr. Hale, there has to be another way." She should be in her late fifties, but she looks beautiful regardless.

"You are not here for counselling Clara. Just do your fucking job and leave."

She raises her eyebrow frowning. I expect her to fight him for me, but she sighs resigning, moving back to arranging some really armful tools on the table.

Oh my God. what is she going to do to me? I know Ace would never hurt me; I know I am the safest when I am with him. But I also know I am not sick.
