A minute later Millie heard the front door bang shut, oh my God they were home! She ran to her apartment to recheck her face and taking slow and deep breaths she tried to calm down.
"Hello!" Gabriel called as he came down the stairs. "Hey, how're things?"
Millie came out from her apartment, "Hello, can I make you some tea?" She said, forcing a smile onto her face.
"Thanks that would be great, how has your day been, did you find everything?" He sat in his usual place at the breakfast table.
"Yes thanks, I've made a list out of the things that I will need." She said, filling the kettle.
"Okay you'd better have this, it's the credit card for the house." He took his wallet out and flipped through the cards, I'll only forget to give it to you if I don't do it now."
Millie took the card and put it in her skirt pocket, she memorised the pin number Gabriel gave her.
"Have you both come home?" She wanted to be rid of these butterflies, and that would only happen when Nick appeared, and she had got used to him again.
"Nick's just getting changed, he'll want tea too." Gabriel watched her as she made the tea, she was so graceful, and her movements were delicate but precise.
"So what have you been doing all day?" Gabriel settled back hugging his mug of tea.
"Just cleaning really, this is a fabulous house, it was a pleasure to get it looking how it should be. Everything is tidy now, and I can start doing a proper clean tomorrow."
Gabriel shook his head, "You don't have to do that yourself, get a cleaning company in you can sit and supervise."
Millie laughed, "isn't cleaning what I'm here for?"
Before Gabriel could reply, Nick came thundering down the stairs.
He stood at the bottom of them looking into the room, looking for her.
"Amelia," he smiled "how's your day been?"
"Fine, thank you." She looked up at him from the edge of her tea mug, praying that she wouldn't blush.
"And you enjoyed your lunch?" Nick hoped that talking about the food would put her at ease.
Millie smiled, "it was amazing, and Mr Clayton was so kind."
Nick smiled, "I'm pleased you enjoyed it, you're going to need lots of energy to work here, and we wouldn't want you worn out. So you will be eating three meals a day from now on and if I find out that you have missed a meal," he forced a stern look on his face when all he wanted to do was grin like a lunatic and gather her up into his arms, "you will be paying a forfeit." He said, pointing to the jar on the shelf.
Millie looked away from him, if she kept looking at him, she would let her mouth loose, and then she would be taking a forfeit out of that jar.
Gabriel changed the subject, he could tell she was getting anxious, "I was just telling Amelia that she should contact a firm to come and clean the house properly, she was going to start doing it herself."
"Definitely not, you aren't here to clean, you just hire a firm and tell them what needs doing?" Nick kept his face serious he had to keep the upper hand with her.
"But you could do that anyway," she shrugged, "you don't need me here to do that."
Nick stared at her, he just wanted to hold her beautiful face between his hands and kiss the life out of her. He would kiss down her elegant neck and down her décolletage. The gypsy neckline of her top would be slowly pulled lower and lower as he demanded to see those glorious breasts. He could see the strap of her bra edging out from the shoulder of her top, it was snowy white, so virginal.
That thought took him to another place as his eyes travelled down her body, what would he find under that very efficient looking navy skirt. He would kneel at her feet, his hands would go up those silky calves under the hem of her skirt. He already knew she was wearing stockings, Gabriel had told him that this morning and his fingers itched to feel the change from nylon to the smooth, silky skin of her thighs, and to feel the heat of her...
Gabriel watched Nick and cleared his throat, bringing Nick back to the present.
Nick blinked, "are you trying to talk yourself out of a job?"
"Er...no, no of course not, but I thought part of my job was to clean the house."
Nick pulled a face and shook his head, "no, Amelia, your job, in fact, your only job is to take care of us. You can cook fabulous meals for us, make sure we have clean clothes and be here when we come home so that we don't come home to an empty house."
"Cleaning is someone else's job," Gabriel chipped in ", and that's something you can organise."
It was then that Millie's phone began to chime she gasped in horror and Gabriel watched her face turn quickly white. Nick noticed it too, and he glanced at Gabriel.
"Are you going to answer that?"
Millie shook her head and switched her phone off. She took a deep breath and gathered the empty mugs.
Gabriel put his hand on top of hers "You're So Vain...?" he frowned "That's an interesting ringtone. Who was that, Amelia? You look... terrified."
"No one, it's..it's okay" she pulled her hand away from his and took the mugs to the sink to rinse them out. She turned around and walked straight into Nick's chest.
He put his hands on her arms to steady her, "Who was that Amelia? I don't want to come home and find my house a ruin because someone has come looking for you."
"I..it's...no one," she said shuddering.
Nick gave a wry laugh, "now why don't I believe you? Oh yeah, you look terrified."
He looked down at her, she was such a little thing, the top of her head only came to his chin the instinct to bury his face into her delicate floral smelling hair was overwhelming. Nick wrapped his arms around her and Millie hardly dared to move, all she could see was his dark blue T. shirt which was moulded to his chest. The thought that she could rest her head upon it made her shiver in anticipation, and she forced herself to keep her head away and keep rigid.
"Do you remember a few minutes ago when I said that your job was to look after us? Well, that works two ways, our job is to look after you too. You live in our home now, and whatever it is that is scaring you we'll chase it away."
She felt beautiful to hold, her soft, plump curves fitted against his hard muscles, and he gently rubbed her back, trying to soothe the upset away."Now let's try again, who was on the phone?"Millie gulped, she would have to tell them who it was at least. She would just say they had argued."It.." she hitched breath, "it was my sisters, my twin sisters."Nick put his hands on her shoulders and held her away from him so that he could see her face. "Your twin sisters? They frighten you that much?""Nick" Gabriel shook his head. "Come and sit down, love."Nick grabbed a couple of beers from the fridge "would you like a drink Amelia?"She shook her head "no, thank you.""So you have twin sisters, are they older than you?" Gabriel asked, knocking the top off his beer."They are three years older than
Claire Henderson was just tidying her desk, she'd had a reasonably quiet afternoon considering that she was the go-to woman for several high profile people. She had uploaded a couple of photos and a link for an interview for an up and coming singer who had just won a national competition. She had spoken to the social media assistant who worked for her firm and who was in charge of the Facebook profile of one of the biggest British heartthrob actors Sebastian Drake and had a conversation with a detective from Scotland Yard over a woman who was stalking him. When she got home she would call Nick, find out how the meeting went this morning, it was a pity she couldn't make it, she usually would have been there. The police had been called after she had spent time talking to Seb this morning. The poor lamb was quite shaken up after reading some vile and threatening messages and had flown to a Bali to have some peace and qui
When Gabriel went back down to the kitchen, Amelia was draining the pasta."Hey, you okay?" Gabriel leaned against the counter, "that smells delicious, do you want me to set the table?"Millie nodded "yes, please."
Wednesday eveningNick reached across to the switch above the bedside table and dimmed the lights in his bedroom. He made himself comfortable in bed, and resting against the pillows he watched his naked lover of five years walk from the en suite bathroom to the bed. He cocked his head appreciatively and couldn't help smiling at Gabriel's Greek god-like form of broad shoulders and narrow hips as he lifted the deep red cover and got in beside him.Nick lifted his arm and Gabriel moved up to lay under it and rested his head on Nick's chest, he wriggled and shifted a bit getting comfortable, their legs entwined and Gabriel's arm rested on Nick's abdomen.Nick stroked the back of Gabriel's neck squeezing it a little to ease the tension of the day, his fingers playing with his hair, winding it around his fingers, Gabriel sighed, it was so soothing."What did Claire say about Amelia?"Gabriel stroked his hand down over smooth skin and hard m
Millie lay in the dark, she had tossed and turned for most of the night. Before she got into bed she had opened the curtains, she didn't like the dark, too many nasty things happened in the dark. Even though it wasn't dawn, yet there was some light outside as the moon shone on the clouds turning them misty white. It was quiet though, and Millie knew she must have fallen asleep at one point because she didn't remember the radio turning itself off.She had certain rituals that she had to adhere to before she went to bed, the curtains would be opened, and the radio would be put on, only very quietly, but some noise was essential. The wardrobes had to be opened and checked to make sure that there was no one hiding in them. She knew it was stupid, but it had become a habit, and she did it without even thinking about it anymore.Millie shuddered, she drew the blind down in her mind's eye and locked the thought of her troubles away. Instead, she thought of something pleasant,
Millie opened Nick's bedroom door, just a nose width, just enough that she could see into the room. The bedside light was on and dimmed, giving the room a golden haze. Millie's eyes opened wide at the vision in front of her. Nick lay on the bed, his back to her, he must have been hot as the bedclothes had been pushed back to his waist.Millie couldn't take her eyes off his arm as it rested on his side, she watched his arm going up and down as he breathed, he made no sound, and she felt utterly hypnotized by the movement. His bed-head hair gently ruffled. She knew he had broad shoulders, but to see them in the flesh was...was awesome. Her gaze followed his backbone and the smooth skin surrounding his muscles, he gleamed golden in the soft light. Then he moved. He kicked the cover off, and he bent one leg to rest on top of the quilt.Millie pressed her hand hard to her mouth to stop the slightest sound as she looked upon his body. His completely naked body. He was beauti
Nick got quickly out of bed and headed to the bathroom. Gabriel was just brushing his teeth. Nick made sure to close the door tightly."I think I've just been ogled," he grinned at Gabriel in the mirror.
The car was spacious; Millie was surprised that they could all sit on the back seat without being squashed. Nick got in first, then Amelia and then Gabriel."Don't be nervous, Amelia, we'll look after you no matter what your sisters say to you."He knew she was nervous, she was so quiet, was it just the thought of seeing her sisters that had her sitting rigidly between them or was it something else? He moved closer to her,"Can I hold your hand, please? Even I get nervous about meeting someone new." Gabriel didn't wait for her to answer but reached out for her hand, his thumb stroking the back of it.Nick glared at him, "Gabriel Swann did you just tell a whopping fib so you could hold Amelia's hand?"Gabriel smirked and gave a little shrug. Nick moved up closer to her as well, "Amelia I'm not going to lie to you, I would love to hold your hand just to comfort you, I know you're nervous about tonight, but you don't have to be. I will be
