CHAPTER 20: NOT THE WAY IT SEEM

Avi walked into Myron’s office and was a little surprised to see Myron staring out the window in a daze. His back looked tall, his shoulders broad but also lonely, almost as if the burden of the world was weighing him down, but he was still her man, she thought. Her mate, and she was the woman privileged to stand by his side.

"Hey, baby." Avi cooed as she wrapped her arms around Myron’s waist from behind, burying her head in his back and breathing in his scent deeply.

Myron pulled away her arms from around him and stepped away without even looking at her, he walked back to his desk and started sorting out some letters.

"You should be at the arena." He informed her in his usual detached way and she frowned a little wondering what was wrong with Myron.

They had spent the night together last night and even though he was gone by morning he had still left a note informing her to resume her duties. This morning at the dining room he had been so nice to her, nicer than he had been in the
