Chapter 38

David couldn't help but wonder why Isabella wasn't answering his call. Was she angry at him? Or was she in any trouble? He was about to call her again before a knock came on his door. "Who's that?" David asked.

*It's me, Yvonne," she said aloud.

"What do you want, Yvonne?" David asked.

"Is everything okay? I just wanted to invite you to dinner," Yvonne said.

David stood up and opened the door for Yvonne. "Thanks but I'm not hungry."

"Or are you upset?" Yvonne asked, as David walked back to the bed and sat down.

"Isabella is not answering my calls. I'm worried. I don't know if I have upset her," David explained.

"You don't have to worry. Perhaps, she's busy. When she sees your call, she will call—"

The ringtone of David's phone interrupted her. He glanced at it. It was Isabella. "Finally," he said, before answering the call. "Hello Isa, I've been calling."

"I'm sorry. I was busy," Isabella said.

"Busy with what? Is there a problem? Do you mind sharing it with me? I'm worried."
