Rachael's lip curled into a smile as she listened to the last part of the recording. Breathing in and out gently, she rested on the books on the dining table.
She has been secretly recording Zack's every word. After all, Zack was not cautious enough not to reveal his plans. Right from the time, she called Joy a dumb girl till when Zack even proposed to him. It was more like a loose end on his part.
Rachael raised her head looking at the small recorder containing all Zack's voices. Rachael fully realized it was time to put Zack in his right place. If Joy gets to hear the recordings, she won't let him go scot-free, especially if she realizes that Zack was simply playing with her feelings.
Rachael felt a wave of calmness within. It was a good thing to sacrifice just to get one's friendship back on. She has missed her best friend, Joy, even Heaven can testify.
Rachael shifted slightly as she heard the doorbell ring. She looked at her wristwatch
Rachael looked sideways as he saw Zack leaning on the locker. She still felt speechless, a surge of bad feeling, stirring In the pit of her stomach"Looking for this," Zack raised the broken recorder as he showed it to Rachael.Rachael felt as if wind passed through her. Her movement was still as she stared at Zack who wore a smug smile.Gently placing the broken recorder into his back pockets, he clapped gently, moving slowly towards Rachael."You are brilliant dear Rachael. I admire you a lot. Impressive, lovely, well calculated. I am stunned. Took me by surprise," Zack commented."How did you know about this?" Rachael finally broke out of her trance."Well, a friend of mine passed by you when you were discussing your perfect evidence to Joy. I could not resist, so I barged into your locker. The recorder is broken, the memory card is gone, Joy's trust in you will be shattered today. Killing two birds with a stone. That is what I call
The slow song of FINAL WORD by Jeiel Damina was playing softly as Kevin sat down on the bed, looking through his journal. He looked through the pictures attached to it, showing his best friends. He took out a single picture of Rachael. She wore a straight gown, her blonde hair in a bun, a smile on her face. Kevin sighed, as he dropped the picture. For the past days he had avoided Rachael, it does not seem right. He thought he would be able to finally get rid of his feelings for her, but it was the opposite. The feelings felt like a magnet, attaching more for him. The feelings he thought he was going to bury came rising again. There was a slight knock on the door as Kevin quickly closed his journal, placing it beside him."Come in," His mum walked in with a tray of tea in her hands."Kevin, I brought you your evening tea," his mum moved closer as he smiled gently, taking the cup of tea as he sipped it."Are you still thinking abou
Joy sat down gently sipping her orange drink. She looked at the crowded area, different thoughts across her mind. She wore a short orange gown that ends at her kneel, her brown hair at shoulder length with light makeup on her face. She looked at the camera on her phone, which made her remember her best friend. For the first time, she had to put on a makeover without the help of her mum or Rachael, who always helped her with it.She was only fortunate to be in this small party because her mum went on a business trip, and she succeeded in bribing her elder brother. She sigh deeply, feeling a void in her heart ever since Rachael had parted away from her. She wishes all this will come to an end soon. It was true she pushed her away, but it has reasons."A penny for your thought dear," Zack whispered as Joy let out a fake smile."Nothing much hun, I am just curious when they will start the band playing," Joy mentioned, as Zack creased his
Caleb clutched onto his stomach tightly as he vommitted. His breath hitched a bit as he opened the running water. He splashed some on his face, as he looked at the mirror, his expression grim.Trying to stand on his own, he suddenly felt dizzy. He rested his hands on the sink as he shook his head slightly, a sense of weakness building in.'I should have been more careful," he thought. He has only requested a soda with a little mix of alcohol, but it seems his friends might have mixed it with a concentrated mixture. He has been trying his best to get over his former self, all thanks to Andrew. His former self drinks alcohol to the fullest has night parties and ends up fornicating with different ladies. It was a lifestyle that gave him temporary fun and also seems rather exhausting. It was like chasing after wind, which seems rather impossible.Caleb tried to blink his eyes, but it was like he was seeing double. He felt like the restroom
Rachael stopped for a while. For some reason, she began to wonder why no one was in the rooms she had been opening. Zack seems to have planned well. The house upstairs looks desolate compared to how loud the downstairs was........INSIDE THE ROOMZack was bewildered, angry, and confused as he looked intently at Joy. The illuminating light was enough to show how angry he was. He could not help but wonder what was behind the act."You slapped me," his eyes flung open as his nose flared up in anger.Joy took two steps backward, not because she was afraid of Zack, but to defend herself, just in case Zack makes a move. The door suddenly flung open as Rachael emerged."Don't you think you deserve something better than a slap, Zack Grande," Rachael expressed confidently, as she took bold steps forwardZack was shocked, as he felt his heartbeat increase with each pace Rachael took."What are you doing here?" Joy asked as she tu
The sound of laughter erupted as Rachael simply sipped her coffee looking at her friends who kept reviving the tricks played on Zack. She just simply gaped, somehow having a bitter feeling at the pit of her stomach."Can you guys just stop? Most especially you Joy,"Rachael pointed at Joy who let out a chuckle."Are you pitying him now, Mademoiselle?"Rachael raised her brow, as she felt she was in a difficult situation. It has been a month already, and school has vacated for a break. The point Rachael was trying to make was for them to stop the teasing. It was true Zack made mistakes but realizing and making better changes should be what she expected them to pray for.She has often read in books that most people who turned out to be a player always have a bad past. Even tho, it doesn't justify it fully in regards to Zack, at least thinking of him changing should be their priority now. Or better still, help him to change." It has b
Joy continued grunting as she walked with Rachael who was in a thinking phase. They have resumed their second and final semester as a 12th grader, but it seems Joy was not really cool with it."I still find it difficult that we have had a lot of work even though we are in the second week of resumption. I feel like leaving school already," Joy whined, hissing loudly"Just great Joy. Try to think straight. Will you just waste all those years you have suffered in high school just because of more work during this semester? Try to adapt, you are graduating soon, remember," Rachael cautioned, speechless by her friend's choice of words."Whatever. I do not even know what I want to become in the future. That makes it more frustrating," Joy whispered as they continued walking down the hallway.Rachael stopped as she held her friend's hand."Try to calm down okay. The pressure is much but try not to think about it too much. I, personally did not know w
It has been over two days and investigations have been going on about the letters in Rachael's locker. The letters stopped which made Rachael feel the more bad feeling in the pit of her stomach. She felt a strange sensation, which only makes her think of other strategies to know the victim and the culprit behind the whole mystery.Everything seemed tense since the group could have gathered enough points. Even though they were beginning to suspect one of the new teachers, they could not help but feel guilty, since the reports about him seemed rather great. He was and still is a great teacher......The break was almost over that Wednesday when Rachael decided to leave the part of the school which was designated for her counseling unit. She kept walking but stopped when she felt someone's presence trailing her. Having noticed this, she continued walking but turned abruptly only to see a young girl in her mid-teens.The girl
