Let's have a baby

HIS DARK DESIRES

Chapter three

"CONGRATULATIONS, YOUR PREGNANT" announced the doctor.

In the dark night which was enveloped by a heavy rain, a flash of lightening split through the open sky illuminating a pale face.

There, Lilly Donavon sat, her mind loss for words with eyes wide open in surprise.

Although his words were loud and clear enough, Lilly couldn't help but ask as a dumb founded Expression mered her face.

"What? How?"

"I said you are pregnant. Two months to be precise"

He said flashing her a smile but wasn't reciprocated by Lilly who could feel her heart pounding in her chest.

She couldn't be pregnant.

How?

At first she had thought she was tired from work and all but looking at the test in her hand, it only confirmed the doctor's words were in deed true.

This meant, she was pregnant for Cesar.

It has been almost a year after her wedding which was quite a sensation in the city.

Their mocking gazes and talks reduced by alot but the only thing that still remained the same was the hate in Cesar's heart.

He still detested her to the bones trying every means possible to make her life a living hell.

Though they were a married couple, they didn't act like one.

She could count how many times he had touched her and that was only twice.

The first was the time, he was hell bent on showing her, her place and the second was when he came home drunk two months ago.

Two months ago?

It was that act that made her pregnant.

Other than that, he never laid hands on her neither did he live with her under the same roof for half of the year.

Only on a rare occasions would he come back to pick up one or two things but leave as quickly as he came.

It recked Lilly's heart that she couldn't have the peaceful and happy marriage she had always dreamt of but still life has to go on as long as you are alive.

After her conversation with the doctor, Lilly walked out his office with the pregnancy report in hand, almost immediately she was out, a figure rushed towards her.

It was Sofie, her best friend.

She had brought her to the hospital when she had earlier passed out.

"What's wrong? What did the doctor say?" She inquired, an anxious look on her face.

Lilly who had been silent for a while finally opened her mouth to speak.

"I'm pregnant"

"What?! Your... OMG! Will you tell Cesar about it?"

"No!" Exclaimed Lilly.

"I mean yes?... I don't know"

The confused state Lilly was in was evidently seen.

And in a sign of comfort, Sofie patted Lilly's back walking her out the hospital towards the direction her car was parked.

"Come, I'll take you home"

"No, I have to return to work"

"Seriously? It's work work work.

Can't you see you can't work in your condition? I have called your boss and informed him about your situation.

He decided you should take the day off.

He understands" said Sofie.

Lilly could only sigh.

She had brought up work because it was the best place to bury her mind in right now.

She didn't want to think about the pregnancy.

During the drive back home, Lilly was lost in thought once again, her gaze buried outside the window and her poor sad reflection was casted on the window.

It wasn't until they were about to pass the cemetery did she snap out of it.

"Stop the car" she said.

"Is something wrong?"

Asked Sofie staring at Lilly who had her eyes outside.

"No, I just want to drop something off.

I'll stop here, you can go on"

She spoke unbuckling her belt and stepping out into the rain which now came as a drizzle.

"I'll wait for you"

"No need. I would like to take my time here so you can go"

Sofie who didn't feel it was safe leaving Lilly behind attempted to protest but his thoughts were pushed aside by Lilly who insisted.

"Are you sure you'll be fine?"

"Of course, I promise I'll be fine"

Now defeated by her, Sofie gave her goodbye before driving off.

Thankfully not too far away was a flower shop, there she bought her dad favourite flowers, Rose.

It was also her favourite.

Returning to the cemetery, Lilly placed the flowers on the tombstone, the heavy burden weighing down on her was released when she spoke to an empty space with eyes filled with tears.

"I miss you dad. Why did you have to leave me?" Her words were directed to no one.

Her face getting wet by the repeated droplets of tears that fell from her eyes sliding down her fair cheeks.

No words could be used to describe how alone and depressed she was.

"I feel torn inside.

I'm disoriented and I don't know what to do.

You know, I'm pregnant and Cesar doesn't even know about it.

I don't know if I should tell him or not.

Would he love the child?

Or would he tell me to abort it?

I'm so confused"

Her tears continuously patted her cheeks wetting them.

Her state of confusion would have been noticed if someone was present.

For long moments she stood there staring at the name on his tombstone when the ring tone of her phone lured her out of her trance.

Her gaze landing on the callers ID to find it was her mom.

At least she still had her mom with her.

"Mom, is something wrong?" She asked for the other side to fall silent for a while before an aggrieved voice sounded.

"I'm not okay. You promised to come with Cesar today but up till now, I haven't seen him.

Is he avoiding me huh?" The worried tone laced in her voice carried out clearly penetrating Lilly's ears stimulating her tears.

"Mom, I told you Cesar is a busy man.

So he is usually caught up with work and that's why he hasn't found the time to come"

She said making an excuse.

After her mom's treatment abroad which lasted for six months, she returned home three months after.

Lilly was glad she was fully better and doing well but unfortunately, she had lost her memory because during that six months she had slipped into coma forgetting most of the incidents that happened over two years ago.

The doctor's said it was temporary amnesia and in a matter of months, she would be fine fully able to regain most of her memories but for the time being, Lilly had to lie pretending that everything was okay.

Although there were something's she couldn't hide like her marriage to Cesar but she could sugar coat it.

Lilly also hadn't told her about the death of her husband for she feared her mother won't be able to handle it so instead, she simply lied he was away on a business trip.

That was the only excuse she could find.

"I have heard that a thousand times now and I'm tired of hearing that.

Can't you convince him to make out time? He is your husband after all"

Her words hit a soar spot in Lilly's heart.

If only she knew the truth.

"I'll try mom"

"Don't try do it or else I'll come there. If you aren't able to bring Cesar to see me tomorrow, I'll come there myself"

Unknowingly, Lilly's heart skipped a bit, her breathing hitched at the words of her mother.

She couldn't risk bringing her mother to come see her.

She couldn't let her lie be exposed even when she knew she couldn't hide the truth forever.

But at least, it Shouldn't be exposed tomorrow, not so soon.

"Mom don't stress yourself. Fine, I'll bring Cesar tomorrow. Happy?"

"Now you're talking. I'm happy dear" she replied making Lilly smile.

"Hope you are eating properly and taking your medicine?"

"Of course I am. I still have a long way to live you Know?

Anyway, hearing this I'm relieved and I can finally sleep.

Don't go back on your word okay?"

"I won't" she said.

It was only when the call got disconnected from the other end did she finally let the pain she had been concealing envelope her heart.

With her sigh and lasts words to her father, she left the cemetery going straight home.

While on the road, she had attempted to Cesar multiple times but he wasn't answering and on the last trial, he finally answered for the voice of his assistant to he heard from the other end.

"I need to speak to Cesar"

"He isn't available at the moment. Is there something  you want me to tell him?"

There, she relayed her message.

She had always relayed her messages through his assistant telling him on how he should please make time for her mother but he never listened to her.

But today, she requested he should come home that it was urgent.

"Alright then. I'll inform him" with this, the phone got disconnected.

After hours had gone by, Lilly returned to the mansion and to her surprise, Cesar's car was parked right outside.

Although she was shocked, she was more than grateful he was here, at least she could finally get to speak to him.

A bit hesitant at first, she went in the direction of his room as she thought of ways to break the news of her pregnancy to him.

But her movements suddenly stopped when she heard strange noises coming from behind the door or more like loud moans.

The clapping sound of skin merging together along with the feminine tone gave Lilly a sense of what was happening inside.

Her hands which hung mid air trembled and her legs grew weak as she stumbled back.

"Oh my, your so big" she heard the female voice which was oddly familiar moan in delight.

"You like that don't you" Cesar's voice was heard only making Lilly's heart bleed.

"I do. Your so hot.

I wonder why you got married when you can have all the got girls around.

I mean why settle for less when you can have more.

Take me for example"

"You are no one to decide for me. Marriage doesn't stop me from doing what I want"

"Why don't you divorce her and marry me.

I'm much better and prettier than her.

I can satisfy you even more than she can" said the girl in a persuasive manner but there was no answer from Cesar.

"Do... Do you love her?"

"Never" his spoke, voice so deep and firm.

"I have my reasons for keeping her around.

She's to suffer till the day she dies"

Lilly heard Cesar's words, her heart clenched tightly in unbearable pain.

Her mind for a split second went bleak and when the door pulled open, she came into contact with Cesar.

A frown ached up his head on seeing her.

"What are you doing here?"

"I... I" just as she was about to form a sentence, a figure appeared from behind Cesar.

Immediately Lilly's eyes made contact with the woman next to him, her eyes turned red with rage.

She was Sheila.

It could be anyone but not her.

Lilly had never for once liked Sheila when she first met her because right from the start, her intentions were known.

Right when Lilly was dating Cesar, Sheila had told her about how she felt about Cesar, coupled with that, Cesar's parents had chosen him for her even when they found out about her relationship with him.

Sheila was the girl chosen for Cesar.

"Cesar baby, why are you taking so long?"

She spoke swaying her hips as she walked to stand beside him hugging onto his arms in a flirtatious manner.

For some unknown reason, seeing Sheila clinging onto Cesar that way made Lilly's heart ached.

She had thought she had completely gotten rid of the love she had for him but she guessed she was wrong.

Throughout their time together, Lilly had never seen Cesar with another woman even when he hated her but she guessed this changed things.

More tears welled in her eyes at the thought that he was going out with Sheila and that they were having sex together.

Why was she feeling this much pain?

She shouldn't feel pain.

She shouldn't!

"If you have nothing to say leave" you ordered Cesar.

"We... We need to talk"

"I'm busy" he said almost immediately she spoke.

"It won't be lon..."

"Leave Lilly" demanded Sheila.

"You heard her" said Cesar.

Lilly who felt insulted and belittled turned to leave when suddenly she halted in her steps, her body returning to the same position.

"If... Just if I were to be pregnant with your child what would happen?" She asked to see Cesar's brows furrow tightly at her question.

"Are you pregnant?" He questioned.

"No" she replied lying through her teeth.

"Good because I'll make sure no child of mine will be born from you. Get it into your head" he said with disgust in his eyes.

A sad smile crossed Lilly's lips.

This was the answer to her question.

He didn't want the child neither did he want her.

His only aim was to make her suffer but she couldn't live like this anymore.

She wouldn't!

She was sick and tired of it all.

Clenching her fists on both sides, her lips parted to speak but the words that left her lips were enough to make hell break loose.

"I WANT A DIVORCE"
