Something is wrong

Alpha Derick’s POV

Again, I sniffled the scent and realized I was right; the scent was not that of Victoria, but that of someone else, and it seemed to be a man. With a frown, I broke the hug and looked straight into her. But the moment I held her gaze, I saw tears clouding her eyes, which took my attention away from the scent I perceived on her.

"Hey," I called out, and tears fell on her cheeks. "It's okay, I'm here. Everything is fine now," I assured her and wiped away the tears that fell on her cheek with the thumb of my finger. I watched her sniffle before she spoke. "Is this really you?" She asked, and I nodded. "Yes, it's me, flesh and blood," I said with a smile and saw her close her eyes for a while before she opened them. More tears fell on her cheeks while I continued wiping them off. "It's okay. Let's go inside," I said to her, and she nodded.

I led her into the sitting room, while Dad and the servants followed from behind. We got to the sitting room, and I helped Victoria
