A Gift

The car stopped in front of the small house. Emma unfastened her seatbelt and looked at Kevin.

“I’m waiting here,” He said and answered his incoming call.

She frowned. Why? When he could just send the driver. Also, he shouldn't be driving with his injured hand.

Emma, however, didn't say anything and chose to leave as he was on a call but before she could get out of the car she heard him say, Amanda. She looked back at him, eyes widened in fear.

Kevin was clenching his jaws as John updated him on the individual responsible for disclosing his personal information.

Emma's face went pale and he saw that. She anticipated Kevin's wrath and that he would most likely punish the old woman. Emma turned to him, wanting to speak up, but Kevin spoke first. "I won't hurt her if you behave and don't hide anything from me."

He didn't like how she had lied to him.
