JACK'S POV

I did it again. I knew that I had said those words out of anger without a second thought. She didn't have to say it to me before I knew my mistake.

If my observations are right, Vera wouldn't fidget, snap or say out any word when she fears she might cry or lose it. She would rather remain silent so a tear wouldn't drop.

There's also the nervous Vera that would keep stretching her fingers and stare down at them as if answers to everything she's curious about but afraid to ask are right there.

There's also the talking tom in her. If she wasn't angry with me, I swear she would be talking freely, demonstrating with her hands and laughing.

I wanted to apologize again. She's the first woman I have ever apologized to and accepted that I was wrong in my entire life and I really wanted to do that again, but I decided to give us time to think straight.
