Chapter 61 A Disguise

“Sometimes it’s easier to just count on yourself.”

Natalie sat down in the bathtub her thoughts going back to her past. She had an hour to get ready for college, she woke up a little early as she practiced boxing just to beat out the sick feeling making its way into her soul again. Exhausted, sweating, and with bleeding knuckles, she finally was done. Some stains don’t go away ever. They are faint but one thought is enough to bring them back and like acid, on the skin, they glorify making you remember they are just like a devil that attacks you when you are weak, they prey on those times to hurt you again and again.

She sighed and took a deep breath and submerged under the water.

Clear your head. You can’t bring back time.

She opened her eyes under the water. It felt good, the slight pressure of water made her not think anymore, it was silent and peaceful. She got back up and took a deep breath in, feeling better.

Sometimes it’s easier to just count on yourself. Remember that.
